What is a layout

A layout determines which fixed components you want to show on your pages and which should be the same for several pages. For example, if you want a map to be displayed at the bottom of the page on every page that concerns your company, this will be recorded in a layout. When creating a new page you always have to choose a layout that you have in mind for that page.

Multiple totally different layouts

It is also possible that your website needs two completely different layouts. A layout is then created for each layout that you can select for a page. As an example; the page of this page that you are currently viewing is completely different from the pages of our website. Yet both are controlled from the same system. So we use a different layout for the page than for the website itself.
